This is a project for the Gear VR called Face Your Fears. This one was the Fear of Heights, where players are taken to the top of the highest skyscraper. The technical limitations are huge to get things to run at frame rate for the Gear, since it runs on a phone, so we decided to use all Unlit materials in Unreal Engine, and bake lighting offline in Maya. For this project I used Mental Ray as the renderer and composited passes in Photoshop. I was responsible for lighting everything here and received amazing models/textures to work with from Matt Olson.
