This is a project for the Gear VR called Face Your Fears. This one was the Haunting, where players experience the fear and excitement of being a little kid in bed in a haunted room. The technical limitations are huge to get things to run at frame rate for the Gear, since it runs on a phone, so we decided to use all Unlit materials in Unreal Engine, and bake lighting offline in Maya. For this project I used Mental Ray as the renderer and composited passes in Photoshop. I was responsible for lighting and some modeling/texturing and received amazing models/textures from Daniel McGowan and Richard Gardner.
